Union Hill Counseling Center was established as a service to the community through the sponsorship of the members at Union Hill Church of Christ. Therapy services are offered to individuals regardless of church membership and without the expectation for any religious affiliation.

Provider Info

One of my goals as a teenager was to one day provide mental health service to the community through the support of an outreach program that allows those without sizeable incomes to still have access to the services they need. This goal was based on the belief that offering the support and direction of a mental health professional can go a long way toward helping individuals and families in need.

In 2000 I graduated from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas with an undergraduate degree in psychology. I received a master’s degree in clinical psychology with certification in marriage and family therapy from Forest Institute in 2002. I later obtained a doctorate degree in clinical psychology from Forest and have been licensed as a psychologist since June of 2007.

Mission

To provide therapy and testing services to the underserved by reducing fees for services to those with financial difficulties.

Services provided

Individual therapy is offered for adults and children for concerns involving depression, anxiety, anger management and treatment for addictions.

Marriage therapy is provided to help the couple gain insight and obtain relationship skills that will allow them to recognize and resolve difficulties in their marriage.

Premarital therapy provides education to help reduce or avoid conflicts common to many marriages. The couple is encouraged to learn about each other’s expectations for the relationship prior to making a lifelong commitment.

Family therapy is provided to increase members understanding of the nature of conflicts and to empower the family to work together at finding a resolution.

Psychological evaluations are provided and include a written report with the client’s presenting problem in mind. This service includes a clinical interview, psychological testing related to the presenting problem, an explanation of the diagnosis as well as recommendations based on the results.

Presenting problems often involve concerns related to depression, anxiety, mood instability, learning disorders and medical clearance for gastric bypass surgery.
